Best Caribbean Drinks: PainKiller

Hi! Welcome to my new section of posts called Best Caribbean Drinks. In these posts I will discuss the tropical drinks you can find in the Caribbean or any beach location (tastes may vary). Some these drinks can be made sans alcohol too! Today, I will start with the famous “Painkiller.”

The Painkiller is a Caribbean staple. It is one of my favorite drinks, perhaps because of the memories associated with it. I have had pain killers from various places but none compare to the painkiller from the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke, BVI. It was a well deserved drink since you sometimes have to swim to shore in order to get it. If this drink sounds appealing to you, I am happy to provide you that exact recipe right here:

  1. Add 2-4 ounces of Pussers Rum.
  2. Then, add 4 ounces pineapple juice and 1 ounce of cream of coconut and 1 ounce of orange juice.
  3. Lastly, top with fresh grated nutmeg!
